Enrollment & Requirements

Student Eligibility for K-12 Virtual Instruction

Students residing in Indian River County may be eligible to participate in the following virtual instruction options:

  1. School district operated full-time Kindergarten through grade 12 virtual instruction programs under s. 1002.45(1)(b).
  2. Part-time virtual courses offered in the course code directory pursuant to s. 1003.498.

Student Participation

Each student enrolled in a virtual instruction program or virtual charter school must:

  1. Comply with the compulsory attendance requirements of s. 1003.21. Student attendance must be verified by the school district.
  2. Take state assessment tests within the school district in which such student resides, which must provide the student with access to the district’s testing facilities.

Required Enrollment Documents

All Students

  • Child’s birth certificate
  • Social security number (optional)
  • Proof of address*

*Please visit School Board Policy 5112 for a list of documents accepted for verification of address. If you don't have the required docs, please fill out the Verification of Address form.

Required Immunizations and Emergency Information

Students must comply with  immunization requirements and parents/guardians are required to complete Emergency Contact Information for a School Health and Wellness form for each student being enrolled. Please visit our Health Services website for forms and requirements.

To enquire about enrolling in IRVS, email [email protected]. In the email, include your students name, birthdate, grade, and student ID # if known. The IRVS staff will verify your eligibility and respond with your eligibility status and next steps.
